New Houston Vitiligo Support Group-Be The True You Tour

D’Lyric Inspired is excited to join forces with Vitiligo Bond Inc., (VBI), which was founded in November 2010 by Natasha Pierre-McCarthy, who is also a Vitiligan (a person with Vitiligo).

VBI is a registered nonprofit 501c(3) organization based out of Atlanta, GA. that aims to provide support for those living with Vitiligo. Currently, Vitiligo Bond Inc. is in collaboration with Congress to make Vitiligo an official observance day in the United States.

VBI has grown into a worldwide support group, through its Facebook and social media presence. Together, D’Lyric Inspired and VBI plan to increase awareness about Vitiligo using an approach that they hope will generate a positive outreach of interest.

Perry Whaley, also a Vitiligan and spokesperson for VBI, will kick-off the 30-City “Be The True You” tour here in Houston. Perry will be one of the guest speakers on the panel. Speakers will also include Dr. Milton Moore, Board Certified Dermatologist and Pharmacist, and the developer of Moore Unique Skin Care, Dr. Alanna F. Bree, Board Certified Pediatric Dermatologist and Founder of A Children’s House for the Soul, Helon Hammond, Parent Advocate of Children with Vitiligo, and Yolanda Roberts, Founder of Healing Hearts Network an organization whose motto is ‘You are not alone’ and who provides resources to the Houston community.

The event will be hosted by Radio Personality, Amber Shaw (@itsmeambershaw) of KYND Radio 1520 AM “Unplugged Praise”. Entertainment will include dance performance, spoken word, a fashion statement (not your typical fashion show), and more. Candie’s Fine Catering will serve delectable appetizers.

About

Natasha Pierre McCarthy is the proud founder of Vitiligo Bond Inc., a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing support and encouragement to individuals with vitiligo. From a vision through teaching as a Christian business professor, Vitiligo Bond was created. We educate through creative forms to patients and the public. Through vitiligo 101 sessions at Emory University with Dr. Holla, special community events, social media, partner support groups, public figures and state leaders we are able to bond and have available support for anyone suffering with vitiligo. Vitiligo Bond has created a path for vitiligo awareness and positive expression. We now have the following states through Governor Proclamations that recognize vitiligo awareness: {Colorado, Georgia, Florida, Indiana, Louisiana, Maryland, Massachusetts, Mississippi, New Jersey, North Carolina, South Carolina, & West Virginia}. In addition, Vitiligo Bond has been recognized by Congressman Hank Johnson. Congressman Johnson was also instrumental in our advocacy efforts to help get special recognition during the month of June from our President Obama to recognize and stand together with people who suffer with vitiligo. I believe that God created us for a purpose and everyone deserves the right to have fullness and a quality life. We all have the ability to shine. Vitiligo Bond Inc. is constantly working to raise awareness of the mysterious illness and use their platform in order to fund research that will hopefully lead to the discovery of the cause and a cure for vitiligo.
