Youth Vitiligo Models- First Fashion for A Cause

Our journey with April began when her mother contacted us in Atlanta regarding a Radical Selfie Expressions event hosted by Mrs. Richards, aimed at showcasing Vitiligo models in Atlanta, GA. Following that initial connection, we invited April and her mother to participate in our inaugural fashion show for World Vitiligo Day in Washington, DC. Today, in collaboration with several prominent support groups, we are excited to celebrate our first official World Vitiligo Day in the US on June 25th, 2016. If you wish to get involved, please reach out to support@vitiligobond.org.

Vitiligo Bond’s Connect and Respect Vitiligo Awareness Project

Vitiligo Bond initiated this project in 2014 to address bullying faced by our youth with vitiligo. We collaborated with the Georgia school system to create resources that help employees raise awareness and educate students about vitiligo. This ongoing initiative will extend to the 14 states where we have proclamations, aiming to inform both teachers and students.   Online Advocates! Congratulations North Carolina 2016 Vitiligo Awareness Proclamation Approved

North Carolina is the first state approved for renewal of the 2016 Vitiligo Awareness Proclamation. We would like to say a special thank you to Governor Pat McCrory and staff for continued support in helping us raise awareness of Vitiligo. Vitiligo is an autoimmune, non-contagious skin disorder that is generally misunderstood by the public.  There is currently no funding for bringing awareness and very little funding for research for Vitiligo.  People who live with Vitiligo are often discriminated against because of the white patches on their skin.  Adolescents are bullied at school.  There are devastating quality of life issues and we…

Vitiligo Bond is a proud member of #GAGIVESDAY

Our lives have all been touched by a nonprofit, whether it’s the hospital we were born in, the schools that educate us, the parks and arts we enjoy or the animal shelter where we found our best friend. You can make your community a safer, happier and better place to live by visiting www.GAgivesday.org and donating to the nonprofits that mean the most to you. In its first three years, Georgia Gives Day raised more than $5.2 million from nearly 41,000 donations. On November 12, 2015, let’s all give back during the fourth annual Georgia Gives Day! https://www.gagivesday.org/c/GGD/a/vitiligobond If you…
